Itinerary: Split – Makarska Riviera – Island of Hvar – Dubrovnik - Peljesac Penninsula – Island of Korcula – Primosten – Split

Beginning tour in: Split
Ending of tour in: Split

Wine regions (most popular wines): Korcula and Peljesac (Dingac wine), Isla de Hvar (Plavac little wine ), Primosten (Babic).

Dalmatia      Pool & Sea view – Hotel Le Meridien (Split)

“Plavac mali” is a native grape variety that is only cultivated in Croatia, in the region of Dalmatia. This grape is used for the production of the famous Dingac y Postup wines from the Pelješac peninsula, Ivan Dolac from the island of Hvar and Murvica from the island of Brac.

Program

1st day

Transfer from the airport of Split to the Makarska Riviera.

Check-in at 4* hotel.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Accommodation

2nd day

After breakfast in the hotel, meeting with the guide at the reception. Short ferry transfer to the island of Hvar. Full day guided tour of the island including a visit of 2 famous wine cellars and seafood lunch in a local restaurant . The accent is on the most famous «Plavac mali» wine.

Return to the hotel in the evening.

Dinner and overnight.

(Note: depending on the weather, you can choose to have more free time in Hvar or a guided visit of the cities of Hvar and Stari Grad. In case of good weather, from Hvar the participants can take a taxi boat to the Pakleni otoci islands where they can enjoy their time on a beautiful beach -eg. Palmizana. Approximate price: 10 EUR per person (not included in this program).

3rd day

Breakfast and check out.

The journey continues south to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.

Lunch in one of the most famous restaurants in Croatia «Nautica» , followed by a guided visit of the old town.

Accommodation in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

4th day

After breakfast, free time in Dubrovnik to scroll around the old city or take a walk on the city walls.

Departure to the winegrowing region of the Peljesac peninsula.

Lunch in a typical restaurant in Mali Ston, famous for its oysters.

Accommodation in 4* hotel in Orebic. Dinner and overnight.

5th day

After breakfast, short ferry transfer to the Island of Korcula.

Visit of the city of Korcula.

Return ferry transfer, followed by a wine tour of the Peljesac peninsula – the Bartulovic family vineyard, with presentation of the wine making process and degustation of 4 types of wines, homemade lunch in the families «konoba». Visit of the region of Potomje – the centre of the production of the Croatian best red wines (Dingac, Plavac, Postup).

Arrival on the Makarska Riviera in the evening.

Accommodation in 4* hotel. Dinner and overnight.

6th day

After breakfast, guided visit of Split and Trogir, declared World Heritage.

Lunch in a restaurant in Trogir, followed by free time on the island of Ciovo. Ciovo is known as the bathing centre of Trogir and it is connected with the city with a bridge.

(Note: In case of cold weather, instead of visiting Trogir - You will proceed to the rocky grounds in the surroundings of Primosten. This is the region where the famous wine «Babic» is cultivated. It is grown, produced and stored in the same manner as the ancient Greek inhabitants of this area cultivated wine for their heroes and gods. You will be amazed how such an excellent wine can be grown on such rocky land. Walking through vineyards, olive-groves and stone – paved streets of inhabited villages, where everyday life is unthinkable without donkeys and mules, one can best experience all the attractions of rural Dalmatian hinterland, where lifestyle remained unchanged throughout centuries! Lunch at the estate.

Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

7th day

After breakfast and check-out, transfer to the airport of Split.

End of services.
